Ileana Lobkowicz
G3 Intrapreneurial, Non-Fungible Castle
Ileana Lobkowicz comes from a 700-year-old Bohemian noble family whose successive generations have played an influential role in European politics and society. The family’s art collection and properties were confiscated twice, first in 1939 by the Nazis and again in 1948 by the Communists, forcing the Lobkowiczes to flee their homeland. After the Velvet Revolution of 1989, the family returned to Czechoslovakia and began to restitute and restore their cultural heritage. The collections and properties are now permanently open to the public, for the first time in history. Today, House of Lobkowicz manages the family’s heritage sites, the Lobkowicz Collections, and cultural tourism activities.
Ileana grew up in Prague and has been deeply involved in her family’s work her entire life. She returned to Prague after attending Boston College where she received her BA in Philosophy. Her role as a passionate writer and storyteller entails chronicling the stories that define her ancestral heritage and instilling a story-driven approach to the family’s mission: sharing the past, creating the future. In addition, Ileana works as a freelance writer and strategist for artists, celebrities, and companies.
