Sara Hughes

President, Board FBN Brazil

Sara is President of the Board for FBN Brazil and has been involved with FBN since 2013. Her experience with transition and transformation of family business governance led to 3 passions: family governance and learning with other families, technology and education for the dynamic world we live in and of course her husband Carlos who convinced her to come to Brazil.


They have two daughters, Sofia and Giovanna and a life of entrepreneurship from family businesses with the Lwart Group to her own endeavors with technology and learning. A serial entrepreneur and currently co-founder and CEO of Scaffold Education, a technology platform for individualized learning for corporations in constant transformation.


Sara is an economist from the University of California, and MBA from IESE in Barcelona. Her pedagogy degree in Brazil came later. A lifelong learner she is constantly involved in new projects and new horizons.


Sara is involved in impact investing, angel investing, microcredit for women entrepreneurs. Currently on the boards of several companies and institutions and is also a board consultant for Family Talks, an advocacy program for public policies that promote family bonds and gender equality.
